Some hotels in Miami are known for their luxurious spas, beautiful golfing greens and priceless views overlooking South Beach, others for their poolside nightlife, high-end dining, and accommodating room service.
Just in time for the holiday season, I’ve put together what I deem to be the very best of luxury hotels in Miami-from those that are located on a private island, located near the super-rich, to hotels that are decorated in $4 million worth of modern art.
The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour, Miami
15 minutes away from South Beach, the Ritz-Carlton offers an amazing beachfront view for guests along with a 10,000 sq. ft. mega-spa. In addition to world class views, the Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour’s modern designed suites come with private balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows and stand alone bathtubs with a separate spa-like shower. I highly recommend having lunch at the Bistro Bal Harbour which has dining spaces that overlook the water. For shopping, the Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour is just a mile away from Bal Harbour shops. The Ritz also offers a personal shopper service. 10295 Collins Avenue, Bal Harbour, FL 33154, 305-455-5400
The Resort at Fisher Island Club
On a private island, The Resort at Fisher Island Club is only reachable by yacht…or the private 24 hour ferry service. The Resort at Fisher Island Club is like being at your own luxury vacation paradise. The island only allows golf carts for transportation, so there’s little traffic to worry about. Once inside, The Resort at Fisher Island Club offers huge size villas complete with a private pool and jacuzzi. For those that love to be active, The Resort at Fisher Island Club has private tennis courts, golf courses, and a standout spa for those who want to relax. For high-end Italian dining, head to Portofino. 1 Fisher Island Dr., Fisher Island, Miami Beach, FL 33109, 305-535-6000
W South Beach
The W South Beach hotel is a fresh take on the modern and chic hotel scene. With millions of dollars worth of art lining the lobby’s walls; the W South Beach’s rooms are detailed in design with high-end furnishings to add. Every room at the W South Beach has it’s own kitchen and balcony with gorgeous ocean views. For dining stop by the Michael Chow designed restaurant Mr. Chow and then swing by the Bliss Spa for a Hot milk and Almond pedicure. For the evening try the Living Room Bar in the hotel’s lobby. The bar’s Caribbean Cool theme offers citrus-made drinks like the Lebanese pomegranate and the Papaya Daiquiri. 2201 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33139, 305-938-3000.
Delano South Beach Hotel
Come to South Beach’s Delano wearing your swimsuit; there’s never a dull moment by Delano’s poolside, especially during the hotel’s nighttime party scene. The Delano Hotel is for those who love the glamorous party atmosphere that South Beach is famous for. The best part of the Delano South Beach Hotel (besides the all-white hotel suites) is the huge infinity pool designed by Philippe Starck. For drinks, the hotel’s poolside dining at the Rose Bar has a great cocktail menu for guests. For those looking for a weekend of relaxation, the Delano has a full service spa complete with what I highly recommend, the White Cloud Algae Body Mask. 1685 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33139, 954-716-8240
Four Seasons Miami
In Miami’s financial district on Brickell Ave, the Four Seasons Miami offers sleek and modern designed rooms and first-class amenities. Such as, a rooftop pool that overlooks Miami’s Biscayne Bay, the Sports Club/LA on-site gym and spa, and friendly accommodating room service. If you’re in Miami for a business meeting, reserve a room with a view overlooking the water to get away from the daily grind. 435 Brickell Ave, Miami, FL 3313, 305-358-3535
